Mitsuru Adachi is the king of high-school baseball manga, and Touch is considered by many to be his masterpiece. Minami has known twin brothers Tatsuya and Kazuya Uesugi since childhood; all three go to Meisei High School. She lost her mother early on, and because the Uesugis were their next-door neighbors, she spent a lot of time with them while her father was busy running his coffee shop.

She’s always loved baseball. She manages the school team and dreams of finding a star pitcher who can take them to the national Koshien championships. She also dreams of marrying elder twin Tatsuya, but that’s her secret; the parents see her as a perfect match for Kazuya. When Kazuya is killed in a car accident, Tatsuya tries to step into his shoes, but the couple have many misunderstandings and wrong turns before they finally work out what they want from their relationship.

Meanwhile, Minami tries her hand at gymnastics for a while before finally settling on a career as a sports photographer.
